Thursday, November 14th / 6:00 to 7:00PM
Ellwood’s Community Classroom
The word doula is derived from the ancient Greek meaning, “a woman who serves.” Doulas provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before labor, during birth and in the postpartum period.
Richmond Doulas works to promote awareness and education regarding options for pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period. We provide and encourage networking, cooperation and furthering education opportunities for the birth professional community and promote the general public’s use of and access to doulas.
Interested in hiring a birth or postpartum doula? Come to a Meet the Doulas, a panel discussion on how a doula can help you have a positive birth experience and ease your transition home. Afterward, we will open the floor for questions, followed by a meet-and-greet.
We will also be accepting canned food for Delivering Hope, Richmond Doulas’ food drive to benefit local families with young children.
Light fare provided.
